What is an E.A.?
E.A. stands for Enrolled Agent. E.A.s have long been considered America's tax experts as they are the only federally licensed tax practitioners who have unlimited rights to represent tax payers before the IRS. CPAs and tax attorneys receive their accreditation from the state. E.A.s are credentialed and regulated by the IRS and the United States Treasury which means our credentials are valid throughout the entire United States.
Can an E.A. do everything a CPA can?
In regards to tax preparation, incorporating, payroll, and bookkeeping - YES! The only things an Enrolled Agents can't do that CPAs can are signing off on audits (of financial statements) and signing certified financial statements. Odds are, unless you are a large company regulated by Sarbanes Oxley, you will not need either of these services. So for most individuals and small businesses, an Enrolled Agent can provide to you all of the services that a CPA can.
